Conflict Minerals

In August of 2012, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) implemented Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act, mandating all SEC filers to report whether or not conflict minerals are used in the production of their products and, if they originate from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries. Conflict minerals consist of tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold and are referred to as the 3TGs.

Orbital and our parent company, CUI Global Inc. is committed to ethical business practices and the protection of basic human rights. 3TGs originating from the DRC and adjoining countries have been used to finance rebel army groups known for committing violent acts against the local people. The goal of the section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank act is to eliminate the continued financing of these rebel groups.

Orbital is currently developing our conflict minerals program, working with suppliers to perform due diligence and implement policies and procedures to accurately disclose country of origin information for conflict minerals (3TGs) used in Orbital products. Orbital is endeavoring to have all 3TGs sourced from areas other than the DRC or adjoining countries or from conflict free zones.
